Our Missions

Choctaw United Methodist Church serves the community in the following ways. If you would like to serve with us, or find yourself in need of these particular resources, please contact us at connect@choctawumc.com or at 405.390.8151 (M-Th, 9-4p):

Food Pantry – (open M-Th, 9-4p and available to the public). Individuals are asked to provide their Driver License at the time of the pick-up and are welcome to one bag of food per month.

Mobile Meals – (Wednesdays) Cook and deliver food to individuals identified by our local Mobile Meals program and to our church shut-ins.

Summer Brown Bag Program – (weekly in the summer) In concert with the Oklahoma Food Bank, prepare and deliver lunches to families at Nicoma Park Elementary, Nicoma Park Intermediate, and Westfall Elementary who have identified a food insecurity.

School Supplies Drive – (July/August) Provide school supplies to individuals in Choctaw Nicoma Park schools and surrounding areas.

Yearly Mission Trip – (summer) Travel to locations in Oklahoma or Kentucky to assist as needed in construction, clean-up, or other missional projects.

Angel Tree – (December) Purchase and deliver gifts to children of incarcerated parents.

Grocery Giveaway – (December) Deliver groceries to families in the Choctaw Nicoma Park schools and local shut-ins who have identified a food insecurity.

Apportionments – (ongoing) As members of the Oklahoma United Methodist Conference, CUMC gives a portion of regular yearly giving to what we call “apportionments”. Our apportionments provide financial resources to missions around the globe. To learn more visit: https://www.okumc.org/apportionmentinformation

Eastern Oklahoma County Resource Center – (ongoing) Congregants sit on the board of the Resource Center and participate in their yearly Christmas party for families in need. CUMC will help service the Resource Center once a building is established.

H.O.P.E. – (ongoing) Serve congregants and others in need with handyman projects.

Infant Crisis Center – (ongoing) Collect diapers and needed baby items for families in need.

Oklahoma Food Bank – (ongoing) Serve at the Oklahoma Food Bank preparing and sorting meals.

School Flowerbed Clean-Up – (ongoing) Clean up flower beds and other outdoor areas identified by local schools.

Skyline Urban Ministries – (ongoing) Serve at Skyline Urban Ministries; collect hygiene items as needed for the Skyline store.

Church Services:

Choctaw UMC, in response to COVID-19, has one, in-person service on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. We live-stream the service at https://choctawumc.com/live. This can be viewed at the time of the 10 a.m. service or at anytime after it posts.

The in-person service has the following precautions:

* Church doors open at 9:45 a.m.

* Masks are required for in-person worship for participants over the age of 10

* Participants will be seated within the sanctuary

* Childcare will not be provided

* At-risk participants are encouraged to stay home and worship via the online feed
