Vacation Bible school

Important note for 2024: We are quickly nearing capacity in our VBS classrooms. What a blessing that we’ll be serving so many children this summer! As of early-July, our 3yo-PreK class is full. If that changes we’ll update here.  

What is VBS?

 Vacation Bible School helps children grow in their faith in Jesus by exploring Bible stories that are reinforced through music, crafts, science, recreation and snacks. This year’s theme is “Breaker Rock Beach”. Kids will explore the difference between the lies of culture and how “God’s Truth Never Changes!” The theme verse is Romans 12:2, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

When is VBS?  

VBS will take place Monday through Thursday, July 22nd - 25th, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm*. Check-in opens at 5:45pm. *Closing assembly on July 25th will last until 8:15 pm for celebration. Parents are welcome to attend.

Where is VBS?

VBS will be held at Choctaw United Methodist Church.

Do I have to be a member of Choctaw United Methodist Church to attend?

No, everyone is invited to attend VBS!

How old do I have to be to attend?

3 yrs - 5th Grade (fall of 2023)

Will there be food?

Yes, each day will feature a light snack (not a full meal) based around the Bible story. Water will also be provided.

When do I need to register?

Registration is open now. 

Do parents and grandparents need to stay?

No, but if you would like to volunteer, please contact our Children's Director at children@choctawumc.com or 405.390.8151.

What should I wear?

Weather-appropriate clothing. Recreation games will be played outside (weather permitting) so tennis shoes or other closed-toe shoes are preferred.
